The Sett Admix – Concrete Worktop Admixture

The Sett Admix is a high-performance admixture designed to be added to cement and kiln-dried silica sand. It creates a smooth, ultra-strong concrete mix for cast-in-place worktops and similar finishes. Developed by The Concrete Sett specifically for concrete countertops.

Use

• Add to cement and kiln-dried silica sand to create a high-strength worktop mix

• Suitable for indoor and outdoor concrete worktops and cast-in-place applications

• Works with all The Concrete Sett forms, including Standard and Euro Forms

Mix Ratio

Full Batch

Half Batch (recommended for easier handling and better mixing)

Water and Mixing

• Add 4.2L water to the bucket (for half batch)

• Slowly add the admixture, cement, and sand while mixing

• If the mix feels too stiff, add up to 0.1L more water at a time

• Total water per full batch should be 8.4–9L

• Once mixed, allow it to rest for around 8 minutes to let air bubbles rise

Two-Stage Pour Method

(Recommended by The Concrete Sett)

Stage One

• Add 60g fibres per full load (glass or acrylic)

• Pour mix into the form, filling just above the reinforcement mesh

• Level and allow to set until firm but still tacky

Stage Two

• Mix a fresh batch without fibres

• Fill to the top of the forms and smooth the surface

Why This Method Works

• Fibres in the base layer increase internal strength

• No fibres in the top layer keeps the finish smooth and clean for polishing

Storage & Information

• Store between 5°C and 25°C

• Keep the lid on when not in use
