Cast-In-Place Concrete Worktop Mix

Available in four colours: Off-White, Light Grey, Dark Grey and Black.

Our pre-blended, high-strength concrete mix has been specially developed for creating durable, cast-in-place concrete worktops with a smooth, professional finish.

Simply mix with water and fibres, pour into your prepared forms, and allow the concrete to cure. Once cured, remove the Z Counterforms to reveal your finished edge profile.

Coverage

Standard Forms: Approximately 0.24m² per 20kg bucket.

Euro Forms: Approximately 0.40m² per 20kg bucket.

Product Information

• Mix ratio: 20kg mix to 2.8–3.0 litres of clean water
• Add 20g of glass or acrylic fibres per bucket
• Store between 5°C and 25°C
• Keep the lid tightly sealed when not in use

Mixing & Pouring Guide

This mix has been designed to produce strong, smooth concrete worktops with minimal air pockets. For the best strength and crack resistance, we recommend using glass or acrylic fibres throughout the entire mix.

Mixing

1. Add 2.8 litres of clean water to your mixing bucket.
2. Slowly add the dry mix while continuously mixing.
3. If the mix is too stiff, add 100ml (0.1L) of water and mix again.
4. If required, add a further 100ml, but do not exceed 3 litres of water per bucket.
5. Slowly add 20g of glass or acrylic fibres while the mixer is running, allowing them to disperse evenly throughout the concrete.
6. Continue mixing until the fibres are fully incorporated.
7. Once fully mixed, allow the mix to rest for approximately 8 minutes to allow trapped air bubbles to rise before pouring.

Pouring

• Pour the concrete into the forms in one continuous pour.
• Ensure the concrete flows underneath and around the reinforcement mesh.
• Vibrate or tap the forms thoroughly to release trapped air.
• Screed the surface level before finishing with a trowel.
• Allow the concrete to cure as recommended before removing the forms.

Fibre Reinforcement

For the best results, glass or acrylic fibres should be used in every batch.

Adding fibres helps to:

• Increase tensile strength.
• Reduce shrinkage cracking.
• Reinforce vulnerable areas such as sink cut-outs, corners and overhangs.
• Improve the overall durability of the finished worktop.

Fibres are intended to complement reinforcement mesh, not replace good reinforcement practices where additional support is required.
